
Theresa May, Home Secretary and Minister for Women and Equalities, has appointed Ms Sarah Anderson CBE as a Commissioner for the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC). Ms Anderson joins the board of 13 Commissioners at the EHRC for a three-year term. Ms Anderson took up her post on 11 July 2011.
- Ms Anderson’s business interests include being joint founder and director of Simple Solutions Ltd. She is also a non-executive director of Jobcentre Plus, Albatross Group Holdings Ltd and Call Britannia Ltd.
- Ms Anderson also ran her own company for 19 years - Mayday Group - a specialist employment business and agency providing catering staff. Prior to this, she worked as personnel and training manager for Compass Services, having initially trained in hotel and catering management.
- Ms Anderson’s previous roles have included a number of non-executive directorships in the private and public sector as well as being the author of The Anderson Review: The Good Guide: taking the uncertainty out of regulation. She is also former Chair of the CBI SME Council.
- Ms Anderson holds two other government appointments:
- Council member for the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service
- Non-executive director of Jobcentre Plus.
