You must not discriminate against, or victimise a person:

• in the arrangements that you make for deciding who is offered admission as a pupil  
• as to the terms on which you offer to admit the person as a pupil  
• by not admitting the person as a pupil.

You must not harass a person who has applied for admission as a pupil.

If you are a single-sex school there are exceptions for admissions to enable you to restrict admission to pupils of one sex. If you are a school with a religious character there is an exception for admissions to enable you to have admissions criteria which give preference to members of your own religion.
