Equality and Human Rights Commission

The Equality and Human Rights Commission together with Age Concern and Help the Aged joined forces to explore inequality throughout people’s lives and how it may lead to disadvantage in later life.

We have commissioned research, which explored a range of issues such as:

• the implications of longer lives for traditional models of social justice
• the concept of intergenerational equity – a discussion about how resources are shared across generations, and
• the impact of trigger events on the later life experiences of different demographic groups.

To explore these, we held a series of seminars, where we launched this research and discussed its outcomes. Our findings are available to view on our microsite.
