Project 1,000 member description
Main duties and responsibilities:
- To contribute to the development of the Commission's youth programme of work.
- To promote awareness of equality and human rights issues through active participation in youth advocacy, campaigning and personal development projects at both a local and national level.
- To contribute to the establishment of a GB-wide network of young equality leaders.
Tasks will include:
- Representing and adhering to the core values of the Commission; respect, freedom, equality, dignity and fairness.
- Actively engage with other members of the Project and work together to promote social issues to local and national youth audiences.
- Attend and participate in Commission youth projects and events to further encourage and recruit young people to the Project.
- Act as a representative of the Commission at associated events, meetings and activities.
- Participate in Commission research, policy, campaign and media activities [1].
Notes:
- All members under the age of 18 years old will be required to obtain parental/guardian consent to join the Project[2].
- All Project activities are voluntary. The Commission will open all opportunities to Project members inviting all to participate.
- Project members can opt out of their membership at any time.
- The Commission is dedicated to Project members' personal development and will have on offer opportunities to take part in training activities.
[1] Subject to parental/guardian consent for those under the age of 18.
[2] Parental/guardian consent may be required in the future for specific activities that may involve travelling long distances or overnight stays.
