Young Brits at Art Filmmaking Workshop

In February 2010 the Commission invited 30 young people, some Project 1000 members, to a dedicated filmmaking workshop in London. The workshop marked the introduction of film as a new category for this year's Young Brits at Art Awards.

Participants had the opportunity to learn the basics in filmmaking, taking into account aspects around sound, lighting and camera shots, before breaking into five production teams. Directors, Editors and a Cameraperson were nominated in each group to produce a two-minute video exploring the topic of 'what would the world look like if we lived without prejudice?'

Following an hour of filming, teams returned to their work stations to begin post-production. Using tools such as text and music, each group developed their own interpretation of what the world would look like if we lived without prejudice.
