Blogger resources

We'd love it if you'd help support Young Brits at Art through your blog. We want as many young people as possible to have the chance to enter the awards and make it a success.

We're hoping to spread the message to teachers, youth and community groups as well, so they can help promote the awards and include it as part of their activities.

Quick facts: Young Brits at Art

  • The Young Brits at Art awards are for young people between 11-19 years old in England, Scotland and Wales.

  • We want young people to imagine what the world would look like if we lived without prejudice.

  • Paintings, drawings, photographs, prints, digital art, video and audio and more can all be submitted to the awards.

  • In addition to their art, entrants will have to write a bit about what inspired them and how they feel about their artwork.

  • Last year, almost 1,700 entries were received and the winners attended a star-studded awards ceremony in London, hosted by Sarah-Jane Crawford (E4 Music).

  • Teaching resources have been produced to accompany Young Brits at Art that support and reinforces the National Curriculum.

  • Submissions open online from mid-January and the deadline is Wednesday 24 March 2010.

Photos and video

Download our logo from Flickr in a number of sizes.

Below is a slideshow of the top 10 from last year, which show the exceptionally high quality of the art submitted. If you can't see it, or want to download one of the images, here's the Flickr set.

We also have a wider collection of photos on Flickr which you can use on your blog to promote Young Brits at Art. We'd appreciate a link back to the photos so that the artists get the right credit.

Video

There's a short video about Young Brits at Art on YouTube that you can link to or embed in your site. We're going to be doing a video of the whole awards process, so if you wanted to submit any video you've taken at an event, let us know.

Information evening

We held an information evening in London to launch Young Brits at Art, with some of the young people who won last year and Alison Lapper, artist and one of last year's judges. We also had a launch in Scotland.

We've got a set of pictures from the London event.

We're holding another information evening in Liverpool on Wednesday 2 December. Email us if you'd like to come along - we'd love to see you there.
