Chloe Livingston is 12 and attends Ladywell School and Pupil Referral Unit in Glasgow where she took part in a Young Brits at Art painting workshop during which students were introduced to the work of the artist David Shrigley who finds humour in flat depictions of the inconsequential. They were encouraged to create paintings using minimal means to tell a story or make an observation about life without prejudice. Of her final piece, The Beach House, Chloe writes, ‘I didn't want to paint anything sad, I wanted to paint a nice beach scene. All the houses look the same but there are different things happening in each one.’
