Leanne Bramwell is 15 and attends Purbrook Park School, Waterlooville, Hampshire. Her mixed media piece is called Looking In The Mirror and addresses the subject of racism which she herself has experienced. She comments, ‘I have experimented with mixed media in this portrait using mono-print to get more accurate proportions on the face, and to help with the shading. I discovered that scratching into the paint gets the message across that it doesn't matter if you’re black or white. It's who you are that is important.’
