Commission funding in Scotland

Strategic Funding Programme 09/12

The Commission has recently announced a GB-wide £10.2 million Strategic Funding Programme, to provide three-year project-based funding for community and voluntary sector organisations. To find out more see our Funding pages.

Interim Funding Programme 08/09

27 pan-Scottish projects benefitted from grants as part of the interim funding programme in 2008/09. These projects covered all the Commission’s mandates from inclusive living, LGBT and women's aid projects to innovative work on supporting emerging leadership in the areas of disability and race. They also covered all geographical areas of Scotland, from Inverclyde and Inverness to Dundee and Stornoway.

Below is information from some of the projects funded by the interim grants programme 08/09 with links to relevant reports.

Scottish Interfaith Council

The Values in Harmony Project focuses on the values of love, compassion, respect, justice, mercy, forgiveness and humility. This project has produced a resource of teachings, writings and attitudes from 11 of Scotland's Religion and Belief Communities. Led by Geoff Lachlan, Health Development Officer, contributions were produced at grassroots level by representatives of the communities. It shows the common ethical and moral values that unite them and all humankind. Download the report (PDF - external link)

Engender

These projects aimed to promote thinking and understanding about the wider equalities agenda among women and others. This has been achieved through the expansion of Engender’s 'Thinking Women's Group' establishing it as a diverse women’s think tank from across the equality sectors. The Women Thinking Equality project results have now been published. For more information visit the Engender website.
