Creating a fairer Britain
Equality Exchange Conference 2008
Equality Exchange 2008 was the first major conference for the Equality and Human Rights Commission in Wales. It brought together people participating in a growing and vibrant network that has its sights set clearly on the future.
Key themes were working together and the importance of leadership without authority.
We were delighted to welcome Dame Gillian Morgan, the Welsh Assembly Government’s new Permanent Secretary. She gave us an inspiring vision for change. Sallie Glickman travelled from Philadelphia, USA to share with us an exciting model of leadership forged by her Workforce Investment Board, which is helping to transform the fortunes of her city.
The conference also heard from three Welsh people – Graham Jones, Ceri Harris and Wendy Thomas - who have achieved extraordinary things far beyond their level of authority
