The Commission may choose to reimburse incremental costs incurred by individuals who have been invited to attend Commission events. Please ensure you obtain approval from the Commission for any reimbursement prior to the event. The intention of our expenses policy is that there should be no personal gain or loss from accepting an invitation to attend one of our events.
Please note the following:
Any additional costs for travel should use the most cost effective form of transport you can. Please consider if it is cheaper to travel off-peak and stay overnight prior to the event than to travel during peak times. Please also use existing travel passes where possible.
The incremental cost of a support worker is limited to a maximum of £8 per hour. The following is an illustration of incremental cost:
If a support worker is usually engaged by an individual from 10am until 2pm but is required for the period 10am until 5pm for the purposes of the event, the Commission may reimburse the individual for the 3 additional hours at a maximum of £8 per hour.
The current mileage rate is 0.45 pence per mile (correct as of February 2012)
