Creating a fairer Britain
Now that we have strong evidence that the home care sector could perform better on its human rights obligations, we will work with a range of organisations to improve this.
We will share our findings and recommendations widely, as this is the impetus for change.
We will work with government, local government and key regulators to turn our recommendations into realities.
We will talk to government ministers, MPs and civil servants about changing the law so that people receiving home care have their human rights protected. We will do this by talking to them face to face, in speeches and in parliamentary committees.
We have recently produced guidance that will empower older people, their family and friends to understand their human rights within the home care setting. You can view this here.
We will produce guidance on commissioning and human rights principles created in partnership with relevant membership bodies and networks, targeted at Commissioners and Elected Members available in Spring 2013.
