As a large public sector organisation that truly values its employees, we offer an excellent package of staff benefits. These include flexi-time working, generous leave entitlements and a choice of pension schemes. We also offer great learning and development opportunities, an Employee Assistance Programme and even interest free loans for season tickets and bicycles, subject to conditions.
All employees working full-time are entitled to a basic leave entitlement of 30 days plus bank and public holidays each year. This will be pro rata for part time employees.
We operate the civil service pension scheme and also offer stakeholder pension schemes. You can get further details on the civil service pension scheme website. Further details will be provided once you start working for us.
Learning and development
We are keen for everyone to develop to their full potential within Commission and we recognise that this takes significant investment from us and an ongoing commitment from you to make this happen. In your first few months you will complete our corporate induction programme, designed to help you settle in quickly and give you a solid grounding in the work we do. We offer a wide variety of learning and development activities and, for our managers, we offer the leadership and management development. There are also options for furthering your professional qualifications once you have passed the probationary period.
Employee Assistance Programme
We offer all employees, their partners and children up to age 21 access to a confidential service which provides information, support and professional guidance in managing difficulties at home or work. Short-term counselling and specialist advice is also available on a face-to-face basis through the programme.
We recognise both PCS and Unite unions.
Season ticket loans
If you use public transport to commute to and from work with us you will be entitled to apply for an interest free loan to purchase your season ticket.
In the interests of the environment we will look to provide interest free loans to employees wishing to purchase a bicycle to use to commute to and from work.
Reimbursement of eye tests
We will reimburse eyesight testing claims, up to a maximum value. We will provide additional support where lenses are required only for display screen equipment (DSE) use.
Equality and diversity
Join us and you will be part of an organisation that not only champions human rights and strives to eliminate discrimination, but which also celebrates the fact that we are all equally different.
The Commission welcomes enquiries from everyone and values diversity in our workplace. A commitment to promoting diversity and developing a workplace environment where all staff are treated with dignity and respect is central to our recruitment process.
We are committed to the employment and career development of disabled people. Read more information about our Guaranteed Interview Scheme.
We encourage all applicants to complete our Equal Opportunities Monitoring form provided with all application packs, to support us in delivering upon our Equality Scheme.
Please email the People Team if you have any recruitment enquiries.
