CEDAW Committee meeting: grant opportunity

As part of our role to promote awareness of human rights in Great Britain, we have launched a grant opportunity to help civil society organisations attend the UN’s upcoming review of the UK’s women’s rights record.

We are looking for applications from organisations working on women’s rights and gender equality issues, and particularly from those who have previously engaged with the UN Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

How it works

Grants of up to £1,000 per organisation are available for expenditure related to attending the CEDAW Committee meeting in Geneva on 25 and 26 February 2019.

Applicants should consider:

  • to what extent they are able to present robust evidence on women’s rights issues in the UK
  • their ability to represent a diverse range of women’s voices
  • the potential to continue working on CEDAW or international human rights law in the future

Partnership applications are also welcome, however our remit extends only to organisations based in England, Scotland and Wales.

All work needs to be completed by 5 March 2019, including submission of a joint blog with other grantees.

How to apply

For further information, please download the application form (Word).

Application forms must be submitted via email to Hayley Willingale by 5pm on Friday 21 December 2018.
